This adapter bolts to the Prima crankshaft, with the original Prima flywheel bolts and a Land Rover flywheel can then be bolted to the adapter. The flywheel that fit's this adapter the one fitted to 2.25 litre three main bearing petrol engines, their crankshaft has a large bolt pattern that makes this adapter possible. The adapter is machined from carbon steel, has a dowel for the land rover flywheel and has been statically balanced.

There is a timing pin hole located at the bottom of the adapter[when the motor is at TDC] and a hole in the block-bellhousing adapter will line up with the crankshaft adapter hole at TDC; so a pin[which will be supplied] can be used to determine TDC.
