TAILSTOCK.

 Lever 20 is quill binder, 21 tailstock binder and 22 set over screws. Tang drive and drift slot are provided. Lathe centre or drill chuck will be ejected when quill is withdrawn into body.

GRADUATED DIALS.

CROSS FEED dial is graduated in .001 inches of diameter turned, that is to say; one division on the dial moves the slide .0005 inches.

TOP SLIDE and TAILSTOCK dials are graduated in .001 inches of movement.

VERNIER dial 32 on taper turning attachment is calibrated in minutes, one revolution being one degree.

COOLANT SUPPLY.

SUDS PUMP is housed behind cover "L", this requires no priming being of the vane type, but must rotate in the direction of arrow marked, always switch off when not in use.

COOLANT SUMP should be drained by using the pump. In the event of pump failure, drain by first removing pump and motor from it's mounting, detach short flexible pipe and union from pump and place into suitable vessel. Sump filter is removed by unscrewing union.

ADJUSTMENTS.

SADDLE is held to bed by four adjustable bearings. to adjust, loosen upper screw, turn eccentric bolt screw below, then re-tighten upper screw. Similar adjustable bearings will be found on taper turning attachment is fitted to machine.

CROSS-SLIDE gib is adjusted by two screws, one at each end.

TOP SLIDE gib is adjusted by one screw only.

FEED CLUTCHES 14 and 15 on apron are adjusted by large pin nuts on lever brackets.

LEADSCREW half nuts are bolted through elongated slots and may be adjusted accordingly.

TAILSTOCK. bed clamp is provided with two nuts and will be found on underside of clamp.

SPINDLE CLUTCH operating rod 27 is provided with screwed ends.
