LUBRICATION.
The machine will have been run in, lubricated, and sumps filled to level prior to dispatch, but before using check oil sights and top if found necessary.
Thereafter lubricate as follows:-
maintain oil level in drive unti with Gargoyle D.T.E heavy: in headstock, feed gearbox and apron, use gargoyle D.T.E Medium, which should also be used daily at all other points of oiling.
Drain and refill Apron once every three months.
Drain and refill Drive unit, headstock and Fead Gearbox once every twelve months.
it is important to maintain oil level in Apron, or pump may need re-priming. this may necessitate it's removal from apron sump.
REMOVAL OF COVERS.
To remove upper bolt guard "A", first give knob one half turn counter-clockwise, pull slightly outwards and lift bodily, lower bolt guard "B" may then be lifted verticaly off locating pins. Reverse above procedure to re-attach, but cover "A" must seat flush before locking.
Door knobs require one half turn clockwise to unlock.
Cross-slide cover "H" is retained by spring loaded pins - lift to remove. One screw only retains taper turning attachment cover "J". Switch-gear cover "C" should be removed only when electrical attention is required, to detach, remove lock screws with special key provided, grasp knob and pull smartly. this will at the same time, automaticaly isolate switchgear from mains supply.
