MOUNTING.

Take into account the weight of this machine, 29 cwt., in choosing a foundation, which for preference should be flat and solid. Shop conditions must decide whether grouting to the floor is necessary - after the lathe has finaly been leveled.

LEVELLING.

This is essential cross-wise, for the stability of the bed ways and is best done with the aid of a precision level mounted on paralleles and readings being taken at each end. Lengthwise leveling is less important.

In order to maintain the correct three point suspension, it is urged that packing is placed only under the three floor mounting pads "E", "F" and "G"

Packing placed indiscriminately will result in failure to uphold accurate alignments.

Alignments should in any case be rechecked after 3 months

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION.

Both drive and pump motors normaly supplied, require a supply of 440 Volts, 3 phase, 50 cycles.

To connect machine to mains it is only necessary to join the free end of the three core cable provided, to a suitable power point. On the removal of the covers "A" and "B", this cable will be found coiled inside cabinet, with one end connected to the lower terminals of the isolating switch behind cover "C", and should be brought out through the 1" dia. conduit hole "K" at which point earthing should also be made.

ANTI-RUST REMOVAL.

All bright parts will have been protected by a lanthium base anti-rust preparation, and is easily removed by washing down with white spirit.

After cleaning, spread a film of oil over all guideways.
